The first performance by this talented violinist at the Festival
A Lebanese-born Spanish violinist of Armenian descent, Ara Malikian (1968) has released more than 40 records, has created his own orchestra and taken part in countless shows. He began playing the violin at a very early age with his father, becoming the youngest student to be admitted at the Hochschule Für Musik und Theater in Hannover at just 15 years of age.
Ara Malikian’s relationship with garages dates back to 1976; the groundbreaking bands would rehearse in their parents’ garages and he felt he just had to become part of that movement. That’s why this tour will take in the garages of Ara Malikian‘s life in a range of countries, creating a “sound tour” of the different styles that have accompanied him throughout his career.
A tour devoted to the essence of music: laughing, sharing and enjoying each country’s music culture from the depths of its garages. With the help of his friends who accompany and motivate him, Ara Malikian presents “The Royal Garage” tour.
